Sun tea

Sun tea is so easy and lovely on a hot, steamy day. From experience, it works best to plan ahead a bit, using a batch from the previous day for today's libation. Just add a slice of your fav citrus and a whole lot if ice.

How to make sun tea:

3 tbs of your favorite black tea or
     6 tea bags
1- 2 quart sized glass jar with lid (8cup)

Add tea to jar.( Loose leaf or bags will work.) Fill with room temp water to the top. Cover with lid and set jar somewhere outside where it will get about five hours of direct sunlight. After five hour brew time, bring jar in, remove tea and put jar in the fridge until cold. For immediate enjoyment, grab a glass fill with ice and pour tea over ice. Don't forget a slice or two of orange or lemon. The flavor tends to be lovely and mellow compared to brewed iced tea and you don't have to touch the stove!

This summer my favorite teas have been Organic Mango Ceylon and Darjeeling with several slices of orange.  I prefer loose leaf and simply strain the tea into another Ball jar of equal size.
