You know those funny looking orbs you got in your order this week? Those are passion fruit and according to Farmer Steve they are in their second, yet smaller crop right now. I don't know how long they will be around, but if you have no other ideas try this soda.
After a fellow co-oper praised the soda she came up with to use her passion fruit, I decided to give it a try. Wow, was she right, it is delicious! It is quite simple, great for lunch time, a party, or a sunny day. Thanks Kendra for the great idea!
Passion fruit Tangerine Soda
What you need to make 2- 8oz drinks:
1 passion friut
2 satsuma tangerine
2 tbs simple syrup (recipe below)
16 oz of your favorite bubbly water

Cut passion fruit in half, serrated knife works best. Scoop out insides into a strainer. Mush with a spoon, extracting as much juice as possible into a bowl or glass. Discard seeds.
Cut the tangerines in half. Squeeze one tangerine into each glass. Add one tbs simple syrup to each glass. Divide juice from passion fruit between the two glasses. Add ice and bubbly water to fill an 8-oz glass. Give it a swizzle and enjoy!
Simple Syrup
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup water
Add sugar and water to a small sauce pan and bring to a boil, stirring the whole time. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and let cool.
