Mango Passion Fruit Ice Cream or Frozen Yogurt

As far as I know there are no San Diego grown mangos available. The mango I used was organic from Mexico. When possible, I buy California grown mangos which are usually available late summer at People's Co-op. The combo with passion fruit from our box gives me enough reason to put this recipe down here. The combo is summery and tropical. Enjoy!

Mango-Passion fruit Ice Cream or Fro-Yo

1 Large ripe (soft)mango
juice from half a lime
strained juice from three or four passion fruit

1 cup whole milk
1 cup cream
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract

Note: If you would like to do fro yo, substitute 2 cups plain, whole milk yogurt for cream and milk. Also you can use an immersion blender and bowl or a blender for the fruit mix.

Combine in a high sided bowl or blender the sliced mango, lime juice and the passion fruit juice. Blend until very smooth. If your mango is really stringy, it would be best to pass this mixture through a strainer now.
In another bowl combine cream, milk (or yogurt), sugar and vanilla. Stir well to dissolve sugar. Combine the two mixtures and add to your ice cream machine. Enjoy
